Event Management

Party time! Time to get organised and plan those terrific events. Whether it is a small networking session or a HUGE party, MONSU Peninsula has heaps of resources to help you out.

The MONSU Event Planning Guide is a useful resource covering issues that should be considered by anyone planning a club, activity, however small.

All on-campus events require the completion of a Function Fact Sheet. The Function Fact Sheet is a comprehensive document that was designed to help in the communication between MONSU Peninsula and Monash University. It is important that all details given are correct as MONSU uses this form to inform the relevant Monash Department of your event including Facilities & Services, Campus Management and OHSE.

Planning an Event
In order to hold a function on Peninsula Campus, there are a few simple steps that need to be taken as part of the preparation:

  • Complete a Function Fact Sheet (FFS) online
  • The FFS will be processed and sent it out to the relevant Monash Departments (if applicable)
  • After the FFS has been submitted, the club can then proceed with venue hire (Please visit the Venue Hire section for more information)

Please note that no venue hire bookings for on-campus functions will be processed until a FFS has been submitted by the club.

If your club requires equipment such as a PA system, speakers, data projector etc., please refer to the Equipment Hire Form. Once you have completed the form, please return it to the MONSU Service Desk or email it to servicedesk@monsupeninsula.org.au. Ensure that this is done at least a week prior to your club’s event.

The summer break is the perfect time to start negotiating sponsorship for your club. The key is to demonstrate to potential sponsors mutual value, that is, what will the organization get in return for providing your club with money or goods (e.g. access to target market, promotional opportunities, product trials, etc)? The process or arranging a sponsorship agreement can take a long time – so make agreements early enough to ensure you have time to organise the promotion of your sponsors at O-Week.

Please refer to the MONSU Peninsula Sponsorship Policy for more information.
